MERCHANT CHECKLIST

The items below serve as a checklist for merchants and/or VARs who’ll be installing the Powa POS T25 onsite. These are best practices to ensure the full POS solution (software, hardware, processing) is functioning as expected and will not interrupt the flow of business.

Item Description
Did you get the right part numbers from POS Portal? Make sure you received all the correct part numbers from your distributor (e.g. T25, S10 Scanner, Cash Drawer, Cash Drawer Cable, Tablet cable, etc.).
Do you have the right cash drawer? The T25 is compatible with 24V cash drawers using Epson printer cables.   Ensure you are using a certified cash drawer and cable combination to avoid any damage to the T25 or the cash drawer.
Dedicate a Data Line Many merchants will offer free WiFi to their customers. iConnect POS will require a WiFi connection to process transactions. To avoid connectivity issues due to limited or over-used bandwidth, it is recommended that you dedicate a data line for use by iConnect POS and devices only.   This will also add an additional level of security.
Charge your iPad Make sure you charge your iPad. iPads will not power up until they have at least a 7% charge. The T25 will charge the iPad when plugged in, however at a slower rate than the standard AC Power adapter that is provided by Apple.
Bluetooth Devices Synced? Ensure that any Bluetooth devices being used with the iConnect POS app and T25 are synced to the iPad (e.g. Powa S10 Scanner, third party magstripe readers, etc.). If the iPad is not recognizing the device in the Settings, restart the Bluetooth device and recheck.
Test iConnect POS App Make sure you have run through several test transactions and reports to ensure your new iConnect POS, T25, and payment gateway are functioning as expected.
Start selling If all of the above items check out, you are ready to start using iConnect POS and T25. The rest is up to you.

TROUBLESHOOTING

TABLET INSTALLATION DIFFICULTIES

If you are having difficulty installing a tablet because the tablet mount will not extend, you need to unlock the handle lock on the rear of the tablet mount. To unlock the handle lock, use a coin and make a quarter-turn so that the lock is in the unlocked (horizontal) position.

  1. If installed, remove the tablet from the mount. To remove the tablet, unlock the handle lock on the rear of the mount, pull the silver handle downwards, and then remove the tablet.
  2. Pass the power cable through the opening in the tablet stand so that the entire cable is behind the tablet stand.
  3. Reinstall the tablet using the directions in Tablet Installation.
  4. Route the power cable around the tablet stand and connect the cable to the charging port.

TABLET DOES NOT FUNCTION

If the Powa POS T25 is not functioning properly, try the following:

  • Verify the PowaPOS T25’s power cable is connected to an electrical outlet and the Power port on the underside of the PowaPOS T25.
  • Verify the tablet’s power cable is connected to the neck of the PowaPOS T25 and to the tablet’s charging port.

If the tablet is not connected to the internet, refer to the tablet’s user manual for instructions on enabling wireless and connecting to a network.

SCANNER DIFFICULTIES

If you are having difficulties with powering on the scanner, hold the scanner’s button for five seconds to power it on. If the scanner does not power on, then the scanner’s internal battery is discharged.

If you need to charge the scanner, place the scanner on the Powa POS T25 scanner mount and make sure it is properly seated to begin charging.

If you are having difficulty scanning a barcode, try to scan the barcode at a different range between 8 and 20 inches.

Use the following table for descriptions of the light around the scanner button:

  • Verify the Powa POS T25’s AC power cable is connected to an electrical outlet and the Power port on the underside of the Powa POS T25.
  • Open the base of the Powa POS T25 and verify that the receipt printer is not out of paper and the paper is not jammed. If necessary, remove the damaged paper or add more paper by following the instructions in Paper Installation.
  • If you are still having trouble, power down the tablet and remove the power from the Powa POS T25. Plug the power back into the Powa POS T25 and power on the tablet. Try again to print the receipt.

If receipts do not tear evenly, tear receipts with a quick and firm downward motion, towards either the left or right side.

CASH DRAWER DIFFICULTIES

If the cash drawer does not open, try the following:

  • Verify the cable is connected to both the cash drawer and the Cash Drawer port on the underside of the Powa POS T25.
  • Verify the cash drawer key lock is in the operating position, not the locked position.
  • If you are still having trouble, power down the tablet and remove the power from the Powa POS T25. Plug the power back into the Powa POS T25 and turn on the tablet. Try again to open the cash drawer.
