Protect Your Business with Refund Fraud Protection
Introduction
To protect your business from refund scams, we have introduced the Refund Fraud Protection feature. Scammers have been calling businesses and requesting large refunds to their cards. To prevent this, you can now set a Standalone Refund Threshold, ensuring that refunds above a defined amount require managerial approval.
How to Adjust the Refund Threshold
1. Navigate to Settings
- Log in to your account.
- Click on Settings in the navigation menu.
- Select Company Settings.
2. Locate the Refund Fraud Protection Section
- Scroll down to find the Refund Fraud Protection section.
3. Set the Standalone Refund Threshold
- Click on the Standalone Refund Threshold field.
- Enter the maximum refund amount that can be processed without managerial approval.
- Any refund request exceeding this limit will require manager approval.
4. Enable Refund Notifications (Optional)
- Toggle "Notify when a standalone refund is processed" to receive alerts whenever a refund occurs.
Granting Managerial Permission for Higher Refunds
1. Go to Access Permissions
- Navigate to Settings > Access Permissions.
2. Assign the Permission
- Locate the role of the manager(s) who should have the ability to approve refunds above the threshold.
- Enable the "Allow to refund without receipt above threshold" permission.
- Save the changes.
Why This Matters
With this feature in place, businesses can prevent unauthorized refunds and protect against fraudulent refund requests. By requiring managerial approval for high-value refunds, you can significantly reduce the risk of scam attempts.
