Registering Digital Tags (Electronic Shelf Labels)
In this article, you will learn how to set up and use the Digital Tag (Electronic Shelf Label) in your store and details about it.
When ordering the Digital Tags, you will receive a white router that controls them and syncs the prices with Franpos Back Office.
The first step in the setup is to go to Settings >>
Billing in the Back Office, and enable the "Digital tags/labels" add-on (since to maintain the Digital Tag service additional resources are required on our side):
After you add this add-on to your subscription, you will receive an email with an introduction and details for the setup:

Follow these steps to set up the controlling router (sent out with the tags) in your store:
- Unpack the router (base station) and connect it to the power and internet with a LAN cable;
When the router is up and running, connect to its Wi-Fi on your store laptop or PC. The Wi-Fi will be named 'eslap-xxxx' where the xxxx is the last 4 characters of the MAC address on the router label. Wi-Fi password is always
12345678
You will be presented with the setup form. Enter our
ServerIP etag.franpos.com and
StoreCode [Your CID, the 6-digit number shown in the back office in the top right]. Enter the
User and
Password from the Digital Tags
Welcome Email ("Your Credentials" part of the email):

Ensure that the information entered is correct, and press 'Submit' to finish the process of pairing the router (base station) with your location Back Office.
How to associate the Product with the specific digital tag:
- Using the Register on your POS, find the Product on the right side (Smart Shelf), press and hold on the tile to open up the pairing pop-up:

- When the pop-up is shown, use your scanner to scan the barcode at the bottom of the Digital Tag:

- After the product is registered, allow up to 15 minutes for the Digital Tag to update with new information.

Note: Digital Tag is updated in 15 minutes intervals. So the price change will be updated in this interval
It is also possible to use the Pulse App to register the Digital Tag:
- Open your Pulse App, press on the 3-line button in the top left;
- Select the Price Check option and scan or search the needed item;
- Press 'Register Digital Shelf Tag' and scan the barcode at the bottom of Tag with your phone camera:

Digital Shelf Tag has 2 tamplates for the label based if the item is on Sale or not.
Also, the QR code on the label can be scanned by Customer. And if you have active e-Commerce with Franpos, customer will be redirected to the item shopping page to order it online. If the QR code is scanned by your employee with the scanner or Pulse App, it will just show the SKU number and behave as regular barcode.
If you wish to change the assigned item to the Tag, simply repeat the process with the different item (assign it through POS or Pulse App). There is no need to unbind the item from Tag first.
Assigned Item can be unbinded from Digital Tag through Back Office:
- Go to Catalog >> Products/Services and find the Assigned Item;
- Press on the item name to open the Edit pop-up and scroll down;
- Press on the 'Unbind' button to unregister the Item from the Tag:
