Receipt printer troubleshooting 

Hello, in this article we are going to provide you a troubleshoting steps for cases, when POS does not see connected receipt printer 

Please try these steps.

 

1) Please check if you Register app version is up to date. You can check by following this guide: https://support.franpos.com/portal/en/kb/articles/update-download-install-the-register-application-to-the-latest-version-on-an-android-tablet-pos
 

2) Make sure that printer is connected to power source by holding Feed button, it should start feeding paper. If not, make sure that all cables connect secure, and there is a paper roll inside the printer. 

 

3) On the POS, inside Register app, play go to Settings -> Devices -> Printers -> Tap on refresh button. Tap on the printer -> Print sample receipt. 

 

4) If printer did not appear in the list, please unplug all cables from the printer, wait for 5-10 seconds and plug them back. Repeat step 2.

 

5) Try to unplug printers USB cable that is connected to the POS and plug it to the different port.

 

6) If that doesn't work as well, on the POS on bottom left edge of the screen there is a power button. Please hold it until screen will turn black. While you hold a button on the screen you will see Power off or Restart options, please ignore this message and keep holding the button. After that, to turn of POS back, just tap on the power button, and screen will light up in 5-7 seconds. After POS will be on, please do step 2 again.
