AnyDesk Setup Guide

AnyDesk Setup Guide

This guide explains how to install, set up, and use AnyDesk to remotely connect to a Franpos Register device.

Overview

Every Franpos Register app includes an option to launch or install AnyDesk directly from the device. AnyDesk allows users to remotely connect to a Franpos Register from a PC, laptop, phone, tablet, or any other device that supports the AnyDesk application.

Franpos Register Setup

  1. Open the Franpos Register app.
  2. Tap the ? icon in the top-left corner of the screen.
  3. Select Launch AnyDesk.

If AnyDesk is not installed on the device, Franpos Register will prompt you to install it. If AnyDesk is already installed, it will open automatically.

AnyDesk App Setup

When AnyDesk is installed for the first time, remote control permission is not enabled by default. To allow remote access, follow the setup tutorial inside the AnyDesk application.

The AnyDesk tutorial will guide you through the basic setup. During this process, AnyDesk may prompt you to install an additional AnyDesk add-on. This add-on depends on the device model and is required to allow remote control.

The main purpose of this setup is to install the required AnyDesk add-on, such as AD1. The add-on name may vary depending on the device model.

After selecting OK, you will be redirected to the AnyDesk website to install the add-on that is compatible with your device. Select Download APK and complete the installation. Once the add-on is downloaded and installed, the device can be controlled remotely.

Connecting to the Register Using AnyDesk

  1. Install the AnyDesk application on the PC, laptop, phone, or tablet that you will use to connect to the Register.
  2. On the Register device, open the Franpos Register app.
  3. Tap the ? icon in the top-left corner.
  4. Select Launch AnyDesk.
  5. The AnyDesk address will be displayed on the Register device.

  6. Enter this AnyDesk address on the device you are using to connect.

The AnyDesk address is static and normally does not change automatically. You can mark the Register as a favorite in AnyDesk and assign a custom name to organize multiple Register devices.

Important: The AnyDesk address may change if the AnyDesk app is reinstalled. This can happen after a device factory reset or if AnyDesk is removed and installed again from scratch.

Accepting the Connection

After the AnyDesk address is entered on the connecting device, AnyDesk will open on the Register device and the POS operator will see a connection request.

Depending on the Android version, device manufacturer, and AnyDesk add-on installed on the device, the connection process may vary.

  • Some devices allow remote connections to be accepted automatically.
  • Some devices require the user to manually approve the connection request on the Register device.
  • Some devices may require additional permissions or accessibility settings to be enabled before remote control is fully available.

Notice for Single-Screen Devices

If you are connecting to a non-dual-screen device, such as a Samsung tablet, you may see the Customer Display screen by default.

To bypass this behavior, someone with physical access to the device must disable the Customer Display Service:

  1. Open the Franpos Register app.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select Devices.
  4. Open Customer Display Service.
  5. Disable the service.
