Commission Calculation Examples
This article provides clear examples of how employee commissions are calculated in Franpos, based on different configurations of service price, cost, and commission type.
Example 1: Flat Commission, No Cost
- Service Price: $100
- Commission: $20
- Is Commission Percentage: ❌ (unchecked)
- Cost: $0
Calculation: Commission = $20 (fixed amount)
Result: Employee earns $20
Example 2: Percentage Commission, No Cost
- Service Price: $100
- Commission: 50
- Is Commission Percentage: ✅ (checked)
- Cost: $0
Calculation: Commission = $100 × 50% = $50
Result: Employee earns $50
Example 3: Percentage Commission, Flat Cost
- Service Price: $100
- Commission: 50
- Is Commission Percentage: ✅
- Cost: $30
- Is Cost Percentage: ❌ (unchecked)
Calculation: Commission = ($100 – $30) × 50% = $35
Result: Employee earns $35
Example 4: Percentage Commission, Cost as Percentage
- Service Price: $200
- Commission: 40
- Is Commission Percentage: ✅
- Cost: 25
- Is Cost Percentage: ✅
Calculation: Cost = 25% of $200 = $50
Commission = ($200 – $50) × 40% = $60
Result: Employee earns $60
Example 5: Percentage Commission with Discount (Company Setting = Discounted Price)
- Original Price: $100
- Discounted Price: $80
- Commission: 50
- Is Commission Percentage: ✅
- Cost: $0
- Company Setting: “Calculate on discounted price” = ✅
Calculation: Commission = $80 × 50% = $40
Result: Employee earns $40
Example 6: Percentage Commission with Discount (Company Setting = Original Price)
- Original Price: $100
- Discounted Price: $80
- Commission: 50
- Is Commission Percentage: ✅
- Cost: $0
- Company Setting: “Calculate on discounted price” = ❌
Calculation: Commission = $100 × 50% = $50
Result: Employee earns $50
