Insert the plug of the power adapter into this port.
The other end of the adapter must be connected to an available wall outlet.
5. Connecting the Device to Store Wi-Fi
This update process can be done at any time during
the day.
It consists of powering on the Verifone, connecting it to Wi-Fi, and letting it
update automatically.
Does not affect your normal operations!
The average time is 25 minutes.
Make sure you connect to the same Wi-Fi your store
uses.
When turning on the Verifone P630, you will see:
Android
logo during startup.
“Device
is starting…” message for a few minutes.
On
the Welcome screen, press the blue arrow in the
bottom-right corner (see image) to continue.
It is possible that the device
restarts before reaching this step. This is normal.
Expect the Verifone to restart multiple times during the process.
On the
Wi-Fi screen, tap the + (plus) sign at the bottom-right
to add a new Wi-Fi network.
Locate
your store’s Wi-Fi network from the list.
Enter
your Wi-Fi password.
Wait a
few seconds until the word “Connected” appears.
Then press the bottom center circular button (marked red
in the image) to exit the Wi-Fi screen and return to the initialization
process.
6. Automatic Update Process
Although the message says the process may take up to 40
minutes, with a good internet speed it usually takes about 25 minutes.
The
next screen will show “Setting Up” – your device will
connect to Device servers via Wi-Fi.
Now
“Device is starting” - During this process the device will reboot multiple
times (this is normal).
Update
Firmware - Do not unplug the device from the power outlet –
it is updating internal firmware and cannot be interrupted.
Sometimes the screen may appear frozen; that's normal. The
update is still occurring in the background—just wait for it to continue.
After about 25 minutes, the final screen will appear.
Your device is now updated and ready for the next steps of the actvation
and swap process.
