Barcode Collections allow you to quickly build and save a list of products by scanning barcodes. Once created, a collection can be reused throughout Franpos for tasks such as printing barcode labels, filtering products in the catalog, creating Purchase Orders, and more.
Tip: Barcode Collections are especially useful when walking through the store and scanning products that need labels, replenishment, or other bulk actions.
Creating a Barcode Collection
Barcode Collections are created and managed through the Pulse App.
- Open the Pulse App.
- Open the navigation menu.
- Select Barcode Collections.
You can either create a new Barcode Collection or open an existing collection to continue adding products.
Adding Products to a Barcode Collection
Products can be added using any of the following methods:
- Scan using a connected barcode scanner.
- Scan using the device camera.
- Enter the SKU manually.
Each collection contains two primary fields:
| Field |
Description |
| SKU |
The product SKU. |
| Qty |
The quantity associated with the product. This quantity can later be used when printing barcode labels. |
Using Barcode Collections
Once a Barcode Collection has been created, it can be reused throughout Franpos in several areas.
1. Print Barcode Labels
Barcode Collections can be used to print barcode labels without manually selecting products.
- Open Catalog.
- Do not select any products.
- Select Batch Actions → Print Barcode Labels.
- Select the desired Barcode Collection.
- Optionally enable Use Barcode Collection Qty to print the number of labels specified in the collection.
2. Catalog Management
Barcode Collections can also be used as a catalog filter.
- Open Catalog.
- Select Advanced Options.
- Select the desired Barcode Collection.
The catalog will display only the products contained in the selected collection. You can then use all standard catalog actions, including batch updates, price changes, and other catalog management functions.
3. Load Products into Purchase Orders
Barcode Collections can be used to quickly populate Purchase Orders.
- Create or edit a Purchase Order.
- Select the desired vendor catalog.
- Open Advanced Options.
- Select the Barcode Collection.
All products contained in the selected collection will be loaded into the Purchase Order.
Best Practices
- Create separate collections for different tasks, such as label printing, replenishment, and inventory reviews.
- Use a connected barcode scanner for faster product collection.
- Use the Qty field when collecting products for barcode label printing to avoid manually specifying label quantities later.
- Reuse Barcode Collections across multiple workflows instead of repeatedly scanning the same products.
