Franpos GEN 4 / Android 13 OS Update

Important Notice

This update should only be performed under the guidance of the Franpos Support Team.

Warning

Warning: Performing an OS update will erase all data on the device. Ensure that:

  • All data is fully synced with the Back Office
  • The cash drawer is closed
  • This process is done outside of business hours

Preparation

You will need a USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Download the update file from the following link:
Download OS Update File

Step 2: Format your USB stick to FAT32 format.

Step 3: Copy the downloaded update file to the root directory of the USB drive (do not place it inside a folder).

Step 4: Insert the USB drive into your GEN 4 POS device.

Important: Use only the left USB port (the one near the power LED on the bottom, far from the display). Other ports will not work for this update.


Step 5: On the POS, go to:
Android Settings → System → Local Update

Step 6: Tap on OTA Option → then click Search → select your USB drive from the left-hand list → and then choose the update file you copied.

Step 7: Wait for the update process to complete. Do not power off or remove the USB drive during the update.
