Upgrade Pax Pin Pad to Verifone Pin Pad Franpos Pay

Upgrade your payment device in 3 Steps:

Step 1: Register Verifone Pin Pad.

Note- If you are setting up multiple Verifone PIN pads, please make sure to follow the steps for each device.

1.1 Make sure you are using the latest version of the Franpos Register app. If you don't see the notification "Update available" shown in the image below, it means the POS device is already running the latest version of Register and you are good to move on to the next step in the article.



1.2 In the Register app, go to Settings > Devices > Payment Terminal.

1.3 Tap the 'Register Verifone Device' button in the popup, then either scan the barcode or enter the SN from the payment device as shown below:

After you register, a message like the one shown in picture below will appear. This is an expected behavior.

 

Click on Register



Step 2: Connect the Verifone device to power and connect to Wi-Fi

2.1 Connect the included cable to the pin pad, then attach the back cover and secure it with the screw (in some cases, this may already be assembled).

2.2 Plug in the power and allow the device to boot, then connect it to the internet via Wi-Fi.

2.3 After connecting to Wi-Fi, the Pin Pad will automatically begin downloading the software. Please allow up to 25 minutes for this process. During this time, you can continue to use your Pax payment device

2.4 Once the process is complete, the device will display a waiting screen, as shown below.

Step 3: Activate Franpos Pay

Important - If you have multiple Verifone payment PIN pads, Please complete this step only when you are ready to replace all existing PAX PIN pads.

3.1 Now In the Register app, navigate to Settings > Devices > Payment Terminal, and look for the green 'Activate' button.

3.2 Now, disconnect the Pax payment device and plug the existing Ethernet cable into the new Verifone Pin Pad. See the picture below.

3.3 Tap the 'Activate' button. The app will restart, and you’ll be ready to process payments with the new Pin Pad.
